Content Templates
There's a lot going on in this thing. Unfortunately, that means we have to pay special attention to the format of all the content; if it's not formatted right, things will break! Follow the templates, else you may need to redo your work.
This page hopes to:
- explain what different game types are available, for context on how your content will be used in situ
- provide the necessary content templates for you to fill in
You'll only really need the first section - The 3 Main Templates - but how they're linked to the games themselves has been included so you can see how the content fits within the existing app structure.
An example of the original App's content, as it is used in the app, is available on this page. It's a separate page because - as you'll see - there's a fair amount to it. The surrounding code has been removed so you can see the format each game's content gets put into in order for it to work.
This should also serve as an example of the type of content (primarily translation-focussed) that Partneriaeth don't want to see in the content authored for the new difficulty levels.
The 3 Main Templates
1 "choose 1 correct answer"
The format (example)
| prompt word or sentence #1 |
correct answer for #1 |
| prompt word or sentence #2 |
correct answer for #2 |
We take all of the available correct answers and combine them to make a bank of incorrect answers. Please make sure no two correct answers are the same. It may work, but we don't know if it will work.

2 "like multiple choice with two prompts"
The format (example)
| main prompt #1 |
secondary prompt for #1 |
correct answer for #1 |
incorrect answer for #1 | 2nd incorrect answer for #1 | 3rd incorrect answer for #1 |
| main prompt #2 |
secondary prompts are not required. can be like... help text maybe? |
correct answer for #2 |
incorrect answer for #2 | 2nd incorrect answer for #2 | |
| main prompt #3 |
this question has more than 1 correct answer. please highlight the extra correct answers in green |
correct answer for #3 |
2nd correct answer for #3 | incorrect answer for #3 |
Each row can have as many correct or incorrect answers as you like, but be aware: the user must click / tap / collect all of the correct answers in order to get the point.
If you are writing for a skeeball / coconut shy game, you must have only 3 possible answers. Other answers will be ignored.

3 "make a sentence"
The format (example)
| prompt #1 |
Sentence in |
order |
of being |
correct |
|
| prompt #2 |
Another sentence |
also in the correct |
order, but split |
as will appear in |
the game. |
The sentences can be as long as you like (that is ... have as many break points / span as many columns), but you'll need to make sure they
- can each only be built correctly 1 way. ( e.g. the following wouln't work, because there are two separate
dobits:What|do|you want to|do|today?) - aren't too long, since the games will run through all of the different available sentences before ending

What Templates go with Which Game Types

Example Location in App: ? unsure
Game Type: "capture the falling thing(s)"
HN: type 4
Users control a "collector" that sits at the bottom of the screen, using two on-screen buttons to move it left or right. Words / bits / parts fall from the top of the screen. The user has to collect correct things and avoid collecting incorrect things.
Template: 2
Example Location in App: Geirfa Gyfarwydd #1
Game Type: "coconut shy cum skeeball"
HN: type 5a

Template: 2
Example Location in App: Gorchmynion #1
Game Type: "skeet shooting"
HN: type 5b

This type is being changed so you control reticle with an on-screen button, rather than by tilting the device.
Template: 2
Example Location in App: Geirfa Gyfarwydd #2
Game Type: "360 degree space invaders"
HN: type 6
User has to use the on-screen controls to turn around (bottom left button) and shoot (bottom right button) at incoming words / bits / parts... But only those that are correct.
This type is either being changed to something else entirely, or being reworked so it's easier to play.
Template: 2
Example Location in App: Gorchmynion #2
Game Type: "racing"
HN: type 8
User must collect the parts of a sentence - in the correct order - as those parts "fall down" from the top of the screen, avoiding incorrect answers as they do so. Undo and Reset options are available as falling objects too, which can either help or hinder.
Template: 3
Example Location in App: Y Presennol #3
Game Type: "pick up the things that are on the floor and place in a thing in the correct order"
HN: type 9
User has to build a sentence out of the available (randomly placed) parts by moving over to them, picking them up and putting them down in the "sentence building place".
